Jeans - Topshop, Jumper - Forever 21, Coat - Cornwall, Boots - Asos

Howdy! Today has been good, I met my baby cousin for the first time and she's beautiful. Today is also a very cold day! This jumper was a Christmas present from my parents and it goes so well with plain black leggings or skinny jeans. Some people don't think much of Forever 21, but I've found some real gems there lately - for great prices too! As the shop is so big, you have to know where to look, but there definitely are plenty of bargains to be had there. As there is such a chill in the air, I wore my proper coat today that is cosy without being bulky, and I love the biker shape - what more do you want from a coat?! ;)

I have sooo much coursework to do this week, along with revision for my mocks which are coming up very soon. I was saying to my mom earlier that I enjoy the days after Christmas more than Christmas day itself. Boxing day is lovely because you have all your new stuff to admire and we usually go for a walk and then to a country pub. Oh and there's all the scraps of food and chocolate to get eating too! I'll have to knuckle down and get some work done tomorrow though... procrastination is never the right choice in the end!

Christmas 2013 (and the lovely gifts I received!)

Cosy dressing gown, Superdry joggers and Jack Wills socks | Paperchase organiser and gel pens | Personalised David Byrne calendar made by my amazing friend, Lauren | Cropped sweater and two pretty snoods

Lots of lovely shower products / skincare | Book about old Birmingham and Jack Whitehall's book with his dad (I loveeeee Jack) | Beautiful glass bauble (my godmother gets me one every year), Gorgeous Cath Kidston goodies and cute water bottle

Hi everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas (or had a fab break if you don't celebrate it). Here is the majority of my presents... I also got more clothes from my parents, but I'm saving those for future outfit of the day posts :) I'm extremely thankful for all the wonderful treats I got and the thought that went into them. I cannot believe that Lauren took the time to design a David Byrne calendar for me! He is my hero and I will keep the beautiful calendar forever. I've also been loving Him & Me, it's such an easy, funny read - I've almost finished it already!

I don't always enjoy Christmas as much as I think I should. It's built up so much and the actual day rarely meets my expectations. Sometimes Christmas can bring up sad memories and realisations too. I just try to remember to live in the present and appreciate how lucky I am. Christmas makes me think about love, peace, reflection and appreciation - quite large topics! Anyway, I had a different Christmas this year as it was my dad's 50th birthday (on Christmas day), and so we were all very focused on that. I think that dad felt like he had a proper birthday this year :)

Hope you're all doing well,

Christmas Decorations

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! I used to find that joke so hilarious when I was little... clearly I didn't realise that everybody else in the world was in on the joke too. The house looks lovely and festive right now. My parents are fans of the old fashions warm lights and bright glass baubles, rather than the neon LED lights and themed tree look. I think our tree looks so cheerful and cosy. My dad is 50 on Christmas Day (sorry for making that public dad!), and we're having a bit of a party in the evening. We've gone slightly overboard on the fairy lights this year (I didn't photograph them all), but I think you need some excess for a Christmas/birthday party ;) I have to admit that for the past couple of years, I've been lacking in the Christmas spirit department, maybe it's a sign of growing up. The whole month of December was full of excitement when I was younger. Having said that, by tomorrow evening I'm sure I'll be feeling very festive!

How do you get into the Christmas spirit?!
